The Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) requires Australian entities and entities carrying on business in Australia with annual consolidated revenue of $100 million or more to prepare an annual Modern Slavery Statement. The statement must describe the entity's structure, operations, and supply chains; the risks of modern slavery in those operations and supply chains; the actions taken to assess and address those risks; how the entity assesses the effectiveness of those actions; and the process of consultation with related entities. The Act also provides for voluntary reporting by smaller entities and establishes a public register of modern slavery statements maintained by the Australian Border Force.
