About this regulation

Directive (EU) 2018/1972 establishing the European Electronic Communications Code (EECC) is the principal EU framework for regulation of electronic communications networks and services. It consolidates and reforms the previous EU Telecom Package (Framework, Access, Authorisation, and Universal Service Directives). The EECC covers general authorisation of networks and services, spectrum management, access and interconnection obligations, universal service, end-user rights, security of networks and services, numbering resources, and the role of BEREC (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications). Member States were required to transpose the Directive by 21 December 2020.
